Job Title:
Commercial HVAC Installer Job Description The Commercial HVAC Installer will execute commercial HVAC installation projects from start to finish, installing complete systems, interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings, and ensuring that all work meets quality, safety, and productivity standards. This hands-on role involves installing ductwork, piping, and a variety of HVAC units while maintaining a well-organized jobsite and clear communication with project stakeholders. Responsibilities Execute commercial HVAC installation projects from initial setup through completion. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to plan and perform installations accurately. Measure, cut, and install ductwork and piping according to project specifications and industry standards. Install rooftop units, air handlers, split systems, exhaust systems, and related HVAC components in commercial buildings. Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for construction, fabrication, and sheet metal work. Perform duct installation and sheet metal fabrication to meet project design and performance requirements. Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety practices, and jobsite organization throughout each project. Monitor jobsite productivity and quality, addressing issues promptly to keep projects on schedule. Communicate project progress, material needs, and any issues clearly and proactively to project stakeholders. Support safe work practices consistent with OSHA guidelines and company policies. Contribute to a professional, efficient, and respectful work environment on every jobsite. Essential Skills Strong, hands-on experience in commercial HVAC installation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings independently. Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing HVAC ductwork. Experience installing HVAC piping and mechanical components for commercial systems. Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, units, and components, including rooftop units, air handlers, split systems, and exhaust systems. Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively in construction and fabrication settings. Understanding of electrical aspects related to HVAC systems and units. Commitment to high standards of workmanship, safety, and jobsite organization. Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and guidelines for construction and HVAC work. Ability to work efficiently, follow specifications, and complete projects within established timelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in sheet metal fabrication for ductwork and related HVAC components. Experience in commercial construction environments and HVAC service work. Knowledge of duct installation best practices in commercial settings. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training certifications are highly beneficial. EPA Universal certification related to HVAC systems is a valuable asset. Experience working with commercial HVAC systems and units in a variety of building types. Strong attention to detail and quality in installation work. Effective communication skills for coordinating with project teams and reporting jobsite status. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place primarily in commercial buildings, installing HVAC ductwork, units, piping, and related components in active construction or renovation settings. The role involves frequent use of power tools and hand tools, as well as engagement in construction and sheet metal fabrication tasks. You can expect a field-based environment, traveling to job sites with a company vehicle and fuel card, working on rooftops and within mechanical spaces, and adhering to OSHA-aligned safety practices. The setting is hands-on, fast-paced, and focused on completing high-quality installations in a professional, organized manner. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hazleton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
