In this role, you'll estimate a wide variety of commercial HVAC and plumbing projects ranging from tenant improvements and equipment replacements to complex ground-up construction. Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects. Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. Develop budgets and pricing for negotiated work, design-build projects, and change orders. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor proposals. Identify project risks and develop competitive pricing strategies. Recommend value engineering opportunities while protecting project profitability. Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and scope reviews. Assist with proposal development and bid submissions. Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction. Maintain estimating databases, historical costs, and current market pricing. Track labor trends, material pricing, and industry conditions. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical construction. Previous experience as a Commercial Estimator, Project Manager, or a similar role with estimating responsibilities. Experience preparing project estimates, budgets, proposals, or change orders. Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and/or plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing complete project estimates. Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities simultaneously. Preferred Experience Experience with one or more of the following: Bluebeam Trimble AutoBid Procore Sage Estimating PlanSwift On-Screen Takeoff BIM/CAD Software Primavera P6 Microsoft Excel A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
