Monday -Friday 7-3:30pm On call rotation every 5-7 weeks misc -weekends Work where every moment matters. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system's second-largest hospital. Job Summary Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Install, repair and maintain piping (copper, Pex, screw pipe, PVC, CPVC, gas), duct work, ductless split systems, boilers (water & steam), water source heat pump systems
  • Problem solve HVAC system issues using hand tools, testing equipment and measuring devices to evaluate and repair systems
  • Abide by proper reclaiming and environmentally sound disposal of refrigerants currently used in industry
  • Perform other related duties as required Qualifications
  • 3 years general commercial HVAC required
  • Valid CT Heating & Cooling license and Freon Recovery license required
  • Medical Gas (MG-1 or MG-2) licensure preferred
  • Able to operate electronic devices
  • Ability to communicate and understand directions.
  • Ability to braze and sodder piping
  • Ability to work in a crouching or standing position for a long period of time.
  • Ability to work on ladders and scaffolding for long periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively operate in high locations.
