Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled HVAC / Sheet Metal Technician to join our team and drive excellence in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and sheet metal fabrication. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical systems and HVAC equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of building systems, enhance energy efficiency, and deliver exceptional service to clients. Duties Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Conduct mechanical systems repair including welding, piping, ductwork fabrication, and sheet metal installation. Service HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) units ensuring compliance with EPA standards for refrigerant handling. Troubleshoot complex equipment problems related to refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, electrical faults, and mechanical failures. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding system issues, repairs needed, and maintenance recommendations. Qualifications Proven construction experience with a strong background in HVAC system installation and maintenance. Service technician experience working with mechanical systems repair and building automation controls. Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and HVAC design principles. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, pumps, valves, and boilers. Proficiency using hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Experience with electrical diagnostics related to HVAC/R systems; ability to troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently. Familiarity with plumbing connections associated with HVAC systems; ability to perform basic plumbing repairs. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Ability to perform field service tasks independently while maintaining safety standards on job sites. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Mechanical or technical training in HVAC technology or related fields preferred; relevant certifications highly desirable.
