Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various commercial and residential properties. Duties Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems to ensure reliable operation. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical system troubleshooting to identify faults accurately. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to optimize efficiency and extend system lifespan. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to facilitate precise installation and repairs. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and leak detection. Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems using specialized tools and techniques; repair or replace faulty components as needed. Maintain detailed service records of all work performed and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommendations. Adhere to safety protocols including EPA certification standards for refrigerant handling and ammonia refrigeration procedures. Assist in the installation of HVAC system components ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Support property maintenance activities by performing appliance repairs, welding tasks, and general mechanical repairs. Operate company vehicles responsibly as a van driver when required for field service appointments. Skills Proven construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems. Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical systems repair, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, plumbing practices, and refrigeration technologies. Hands-on experience with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering equipment, and ohmmeters. Mechanical knowledge related to boiler operation, ammonia refrigeration systems, and appliance repair. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately for efficient troubleshooting. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience working with electrical systems is highly desirable. Mechanical or automotive mechanic experience is advantageous for complex repairs. Ability to perform welding tasks safely when required for system repairs or modifications. Strong field service orientation with a focus on timely problem resolution and quality workmanship.
