Job Description
We are looking for an experienced mid-level to high-level HVAC Controls Technician / Building Automation Technician to work onsite for various customers to address day-to-day service needs as they arise and/or installation projects.
Job Duties:
Diagnose and repair complex electronic control systems; Program, test, and make modifications to system software or programming; Provide sketches of field changes or discrepancies for engineering corrections to as-built drawing; Interpret as well as understand As-Built drawings and Sequences of Operations; Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems; Keep customers informed on the nature of the services provided, any outstanding issues, recommended system enhancements, upgrades, and/or repairs; Manage assigned work to meet deadlines and customer expectations; Abide by company and customer safety guidelines and policies; Provide training to customers on how to use or interact with front-end controls;. Organize and complete documentation as necessary; Work independently or as part of a team; Work with customer IT staff to troubleshoot or establish network connectivity; Participate in the Scheduled On-Call Technician Rotation; and Other Controls Service related tasks as needed.Preferred Experience:
Possesses a strong understanding of HVAC equipment and systems; Serviced and commissioned Direct Digital Controls (DDC) programmable controllers; Solid experience with Tridium Niagara software and programming; Experience working with graphical user interfaces (GUIs) by creating them as well as manipulating them; Performed preventive maintenance, repair, and general servicing of HVAC controls components; and Interacted directly with customers in a consistently professional manner.Educational Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-years experience working as an HVAC Controls Field Technician or similar position; Actual knowledge of Tridium Niagara; Experience with Honeywell, Johnson Controls, and/or ABB systems is a plus; Computer experience required; Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record; Ideal, but not required: Two-year technical certificate or an Associate Degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, facilities management, facilities engineering, air conditioning, or similar field; and Basic electrical systems or wiring experience.
