This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced HVAC professional who enjoys working in the field, solving complex problems, supporting customers, and helping develop other technicians. As the Lead Install Service Technician, you will serve as a key leader within the service and installation team. You will perform installations and complex troubleshooting while providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to other technicians. You will also work closely with the Service Manager, Operations team, and Sales team to ensure our customers receive high quality service and a positive experience. The ideal candidate is a strong technician and natural leader who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively, makes sound decisions, and leads by example. Company vehicle provided Primary Responsibilities Lead and participate in HVAC, oil, propane, and related service and installation work. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in the field. Mentor, coach, and provide on-the-job training to service and installation technicians. Lead by example by consistently demonstrating professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and the Company's Core Values. Participate in the on-call rotation and provide support during emergency service needs. Work closely with the Service Manager to identify opportunities for improvement, resolve issues, and strengthen team performance. Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure customer commitments and quoted work aligns with work performed in the field. Perform quoted work and communicate any differences between expected and actual job requirements. Provide feedback to the Operations Manager and General Manager regarding employee performance and development. Help implement safety and compliance training and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed. Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. Identify and recommend processes that improve customer satisfaction, efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness. Promote a customer focused culture and help build a strong, engaged service and installation team. Represent the company professionally and respectfully when interacting with customers, coworkers, and the public. Support the department's operational goals, including customer satisfaction and organic growth. Required Qualifications Connecticut HVAC B or S License required EPA Universal Certification required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience in oil, propane, and HVAC service and installation. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to successfully meet company requirements for criminal and other background checks. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in the field. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong professionalism, communication skills, and discretion. Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service. Skilled in the operation, maintenance, and service of HVAC systems from 8 to 12 years old Full knowledge of electrical components and low-voltage wiring Knowledge and maintenance of mini-split systems.
