Job Description
C M Heating & Cooling is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic / HVAC Duct Installer to join our team for projects located in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have experience fabricating, assembling, and installing HVAC duct systems for commercial and residential projects. We are looking for dependable individuals who can work efficiently in the field, follow project specifications, and maintain high-quality workmanship. Scope of Responsibilities Install rectangular, spiral, and round ductwork systems Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job layouts Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal duct systems Install dampers, diffusers, grilles, insulation, and ventilation components Perform duct sealing and ensure proper airflow installation standards Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on-site Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and sheet metal equipment safely Maintain clean and organized work areas Follow all OSHA and job site safety requirements Assist with loading, unloading, and material handling as needed Skills & Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience in sheet metal or HVAC duct installation Experience working on commercial HVAC projects preferred Ability to read blueprints and mechanical plans Familiarity with duct fabrication and installation standards Ability to work at heights, rooftops, ladders, and confined spaces Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills Reliable transportation preferred OSHA certification is a plus Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required Job Details Full-time position Monday-Friday schedule Overtime opportunities available Projects located throughout Washington, DC Competitive pay based on experience
