In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems in residential settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal comfort, energy efficiency, and safety for homeowners. Duties Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and refrigeration equipment in residential properties following schematics and HVAC design plans. Perform routine maintenance on existing mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and longevity. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC system issues utilizing electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting techniques, and mechanical knowledge. Diagnose issues related to HVAC systems such as refrigerant leaks or drainage problems, ensuring proper system function. Utilize building automation systems to optimize system performance and energy efficiency. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs or installations performed. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants safely and responsibly. Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs or installations clearly, providing excellent customer service throughout every interaction. Operate a company van safely as a licensed van driver while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience HVAC service technician roles with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and installation. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems,, refrigeration, and building automation systems. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters. Familiarity with electrical diagnostics related to HVAC/R systems along with appliance repair skills is highly desirable. Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately for precise installations or repairs. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction. Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required; additional certifications in electrical or plumbing work are a plus. Experience operating vans or trucks safely as a licensed driver is necessary for this role.
