Service Technician to join our team as a contractor or part-time professional. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems in residential settings. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Install new HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and schematics to identify issues accurately. Repair or replace mechanical components, electrical wiring, thermostats, compressors, and refrigerant lines as needed. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to facilitate precise installations and repairs. Communicate clearly with customers about system issues, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction. Skills Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar construction or mechanical repair role. Strong knowledge of HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, electrical systems, and building automation systems. Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately for troubleshooting and installation purposes. Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters. Experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate technical information to clients. Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; additional certifications related to electrical diagnostics or boiler repair are a plus. Knowledge of HVAC system troubleshooting techniques including equipment repair and maintenance routines.
