Central Heating Consultants is looking for a seasoned HVAC Service Technician with a minimum of 5 years of service experience to join our team. This position is for an experienced technician who is confident working independently, accurately diagnosing HVAC systems, completing repairs, and communicating professionally with homeowners and business owners. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a service call from initial diagnosis through repair, documentation, and customer communication. Our service department works on residential and light commercial HVAC systems throughout the Tallahassee and surrounding area. What You'll Do Perform on-site HVAC diagnostics and troubleshooting Identify system issues accurately and recommend appropriate repairs Complete HVAC repairs safely and correctly Perform residential and light commercial preventative maintenance Clearly explain diagnoses, repair options, quotes, and associated costs to homeowners and business owners Properly document diagnoses, repairs, recommendations, equipment information, and work performed Identify additional system concerns and communicate appropriate recommendations to the customer Evaluate airflow and ductwork issues when applicable Work independently and manage assigned service calls throughout the day Communicate with the office regarding job status, scheduling, parts, and customer needs Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service Keep assigned company vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked Maintain and care for company-provided equipment What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of HVAC service experience required EPA certification required Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to independently diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems Experience with light commercial HVAC equipment Knowledge of duct sizing, airflow, and duct system performance Understanding of electrical components, refrigerant systems, controls, heat pumps, air handlers, package units, and related HVAC equipment Ability to clearly communicate technical issues in a way homeowners and business owners can understand Comfortable discussing repair options, quotes, recommendations, and costs directly with customers Ability to accurately and thoroughly document service calls Ability to work independently without constant supervision Strong organizational and time-management skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Geothermal experience is a plus Must provide and maintain your own standard HVAC hand tools Schedule Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or until assigned jobs are completed Technicians also participate in an on-call rotation with additional compensation.
