Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment. Conduct routine system maintenance to ensure energy efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot complex equipment problems involving refrigeration cycles, plumbing connections, mechanical components, and building automation systems. Collaborate with clients to provide clear explanations of repairs and maintenance procedures while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs for all work performed to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards such as EPA certifications. Skills Proven construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as boilers and appliances. Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles effectively during installation or repairs. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics using specialized tools like ohmmeters; troubleshooting electrical systems efficiently. Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC operations within smart building environments. Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, plumbing connections, air conditioning units, and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions; capable of explaining technical issues clearly. Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; experience working with HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively; experience with equipment repair and maintenance is essential. Valid van driver's license preferred for on-site visits; strong mechanical skills combined with electrical system knowledge enhance versatility in the role.
