HVAC Install Helper MyAire Heating & Cooling Decatur, GA Job Details Full-time $24.36 - $29.34 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Carpentry Customer communication Outdoor work experience Ladder use Driver's License Power tools Hand tools Full Job Description Position Summary My Aire Heating & Cooling is seeking a dependable, hardworking HVAC Install Helper to assist our Lead Installers with residential and light commercial HVAC installations. The Install Helper supports the installation team by preparing materials, removing old equipment, installing ductwork and accessories, maintaining a clean jobsite, and helping ensure each installation is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. This position is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the HVAC industry and is willing to learn. Key Responsibilities Assist Lead Installers with HVAC system replacements and new installations. Help remove existing furnaces, air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, ductwork, and related equipment. Carry, load, and unload equipment, tools, and installation materials. Assist with setting indoor and outdoor HVAC equipment. Help install supply and return ductwork, flex duct, plenums, boots, registers, and transitions. Assist with running refrigerant lines, drain lines, low-voltage wiring, and other installation materials under the direction of the Lead Installer. Help install thermostats, equipment pads, disconnects, line-hide, float switches, drain pans, and accessories. Seal ductwork and connections properly. Help insulate refrigerant piping and ductwork when required. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the installation. Protect customers' floors, walls, furniture, landscaping, and property. Remove trash, old equipment, and debris from the customer's property. Keep installation vehicles organized and stocked. Help prepare tools, equipment, and materials for the next day's installations. Follow instructions from the Lead Installer and Install Manager. Follow all My Aire safety procedures and installation standards. Communicate any damaged equipment, missing materials, or jobsite concerns immediately. Customer Service Expectations Every Install Helper represents My Aire Heating & Cooling while working in a customer's home or business.
Employees are expected to:
Arrive in a clean company uniform. Be respectful and professional. Use appropriate language around customers. Protect the customer's property. Keep the work area clean. Avoid unnecessary phone use while working. Never smoke or use tobacco products on customer property unless specifically permitted. Be courteous to customers, coworkers, vendors, and other trades. Never discuss internal company problems, pricing disputes, or employee issues with customers. Daily Expectations The Install Helper should arrive on time and prepared to work. Before leaving for the first installation, the Helper should assist in verifying that the truck contains the correct: Equipment Materials Tools Thermostats Drain materials Refrigerant piping Duct materials Installation accessories At the end of each installation, the Helper is expected to assist with cleanup, loading unused materials, removing old equipment, and preparing the truck for the next job. Qualifications Valid driver's license preferred. Reliable transportation to work. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions. Willingness to learn the HVAC trade. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to safely use basic hand tools and power tools. Good communication skills. Professional attitude and appearance. Ability to work in hot attics, crawlspaces, basements, rooftops, and outdoor environments. Ability to perform physically demanding work. Preferred Experience Previous HVAC or construction experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements The Install Helper must be able to: Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds or more. Assist with moving furnaces, air handlers, condensers, and other HVAC equipment. Climb ladders. Work in attics and crawlspaces. Bend, kneel, crawl, stand, and climb throughout the workday. Work outdoors in hot and cold temperatures. Safely operate hand tools and power tools. Performance Expectations Performance may be measured by: Attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow instructions. Quality of installation work. Jobsite cleanliness. Care of customer property. Installation efficiency. Proper use and care of tools. Truck organization. Teamwork and attitude. Progress in learning HVAC installation skills. Number of callbacks or installation-related mistakes. Career Growth The Install Helper position is intended to be a development role. $24.36 - $29.34 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 45.0 per week
