Overview Join our dynamic team as an HVAC/Mechanical Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and optimizing complex mechanical systems across commercial and industrial facilities. In this energetic role, you will perform installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation systems. Your expertise will ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of critical mechanical infrastructure while delivering exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and building automation system layouts to accurately diagnose issues. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical systems and ensure proper system operation. Conduct routine HVAC system maintenance to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan. Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and ensure proper integration with mechanical infrastructure. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for precise equipment troubleshooting and repairs. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and documentation of repairs performed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system issues and solutions while ensuring safety compliance with EPA regulations and other standards. Qualifications Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation or repair in commercial or industrial settings. Service technician experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems preferred. Strong understanding of schematics, electrical diagnostics, building automation systems, and HVAC design principles. Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC system repair, maintenance procedures, boiler operation, plumbing integration, and equipment troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with hand tools, electrical testing devices (including ohmmeters), and equipment repair techniques. Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for effective diagnostics. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles preferred. EPA certification required for handling refrigerants; additional certifications in HVAC or electrical diagnostics are advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to property maintenance and field service tasks.
