Job Description

Why This Role Is Different Most maintenance gigs pay only when the phone rings. We don't work that way. If you're HVAC-certified, you're guaranteed a minimum of 5 hours per week at $30/hour—paid whether or not a call comes in. On top of that, you'll have access to steady additional paid work through turnovers, make-readies, painting, and specialty projects, so slow weeks don't mean empty paychecks. You'll be servicing an established portfolio of single-family rental homes—not scattered one-off jobs—with a consistent, predictable workflow and a defined service area that keeps your drive time reasonable. About the Role We're hiring a skilled, dependable On-Call Maintenance Technician to keep our single-family rental homes in excellent condition and our residents well taken care of. You'll work independently in the field, diagnosing and completing a wide range of repairs, coordinating directly with our property management team, and representing E & E Capital Management at every door you knock on. This is a strong fit for an experienced tradesperson who wants flexibility, steady earning potential, and room to take on as much extra project work as they can handle. What You'll Do Respond to resident maintenance and repair requests at single-family rental homes throughout the service area, meeting target response times for routine and emergency calls Diagnose and complete repairs across plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, appliances, and painting Perform HVAC diagnostics, service, and repairs (if certified) Complete turnovers, make-readies, and interior/exterior painting projects as assigned Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, and keep them updated on work status Document completed work, materials used, photos, and any follow-up needs through our work-order system Prioritize and manage multiple open service requests independently, escalating larger issues to the property management team Identify and report property conditions that may lead to future problems What You Bring Required 3+ years of residential maintenance, handyman, or property maintenance experience Hands-on competence across plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, and painting Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and communicate professionally with residents Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Clayton, Rockdale, DeKalb, and Henry Counties Your own basic hand and power tools Smartphone for receiving work orders, photo documentation, and job close-out Ability to pass a background check [and MVR / drug screen — confirm] Preferred HVAC certification or license — qualifies you for the guaranteed 5 hours/week at $30/hour EPA 608 certification Interior and exterior painting experience Prior experience with single-family rental or property management portfolios Familiarity with work-order software (AppFolio, Propertyware, Buildium, or similar) Schedule & On-Call Expectations On-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, holidays Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; climb ladders and stairs; work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions; and stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities. Compensation & Benefits $25.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications Guaranteed minimum 5 hours/week at $30/hour for HVAC-certified technicians Additional paid project work (turnovers, make-readies, painting, specialty jobs) How to Apply Submit your resume along with: A brief summary of your maintenance experience Any certifications or trade licenses you hold (HVAC, EPA 608, electrical, plumbing, etc.) Your general availability for on-call work Apply through email ee-hr@eecapitalmanagement.com.
