The Lead HVAC Install Technician is responsible for the installation, replacement, startup, and commissioning of residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position requires a strong commitment to quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, safety, and company standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, maintains a professional appearance, communicates effectively with homeowners, and works efficiently to complete installations on schedule. Essential Responsibilities Install residential HVAC systems including split systems, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, package units, mini-split systems, and indoor air quality products. Remove and dispose of existing HVAC equipment safely and efficiently. Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, ductwork modifications, electrical disconnects, thermostats, and related accessories. Perform system startups, commissioning, and operational testing. Verify proper airflow, refrigerant charge, system performance, and thermostat operation. Ensure all installations comply with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards. Complete installation paperwork, photos, and digital documentation accurately. GREAT customer service skills. Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding system operation and maintenance recommendations. Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout the installation process. Protect customer property using floor coverings, drop cloths, and proper work practices. Identify and communicate any additional customer needs or opportunities to improve comfort, efficiency, or indoor air quality. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional condition. Participate in training programs and company meetings as required. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of residential HVAC installation experience. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and job specifications. Preferred EPA Universal Certification. NATE Certification. Experience with high-efficiency equipment, inverter systems, and duct modifications. Experience using digital field service software such as FieldEdge.
