Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure reliable operation and extend system lifespan. Utilize hand tools and mechanical systems repair techniques to complete installations and repairs efficiently. Diagnose complex problems related to refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, and mechanical components. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining proper documentation. Provide exceptional customer service by clearly communicating repair procedures and system status to clients. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs for all work performed. Assist with HVAC system installation projects from planning through execution while adhering to safety standards. Skills Proven experience in construction, property maintenance, or field service roles involving HVAC systems. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as boilers and ventilation units. Ability to read schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans accurately. Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; capable of troubleshooting electrical systems effectively. Familiarity with refrigeration techniques including ammonia refrigeration systems; understanding of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration). Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling HVAC functions efficiently. Proficient in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers along with specialized equipment troubleshooting skills. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of environmental regulations related to refrigerants. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Valid van driver's license for safe transportation between job sites as needed.
