Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator sets up, operates, and monitors production equipment with a strong focus on thermo injection mold machines. This role uses hand tools to perform adjustments, applies mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot issues, and ensures safe, efficient, and consistent production output. Responsibilities Operate production machinery, with a primary focus on thermo injection mold machines, in a safe and efficient manner. Set up machines according to production specifications, including adjustments and basic changeovers using hand tools. Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the shift, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operation. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime. Use hand tools to perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and equipment adjustments. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and working on the production floor. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly. Work collaboratively with production team members and support staff to meet daily output and quality targets. Accurately report production data, issues, and downtime to support continuous improvement. Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to production, safety, and quality. Essential Skills Proven experience operating production machinery, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Hands-on experience using hand tools for equipment setup, adjustment, and minor maintenance. Comfort and familiarity with thermo injection mold machines and related production processes. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how machines function and identify issues. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical or operational problems. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, production specifications, and safety guidelines. Capability to work independently and maintain focus in a fast-paced production setting. Reliability and punctuality to consistently work assigned shifts from Monday to Friday. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a high-volume production or manufacturing environment. Expereince in machine operation involving plastics, molding, or similar processes. Comfort working in non-climate-controlled environments. Willingness to work different shifts, including first shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and third shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), Monday through Friday. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products. Basic understanding of safety practices in an industrial or production setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility, where Machine Operators work on and around thermo injection mold machines and related equipment. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with regular use of hand tools and interaction with mechanical systems. Work is performed on a Monday through Friday schedule, with available shifts including first shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and third shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). Operators should be comfortable working on their feet for extended periods and navigating typical manufacturing floor conditions while following all safety and equipment-handling procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valdosta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $26.00/hr.
