Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the comfort and safety of residential environments. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. Your expertise will directly impact building operations, customer satisfaction, and environmental sustainability. Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including refrigerant lines and water supply connections. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical skills to repair or replace mechanical components of HVAC systems. Perform routine system maintenance to ensure peak efficiency and compliance with safety standards; troubleshoot complex equipment problems including ammonia refrigeration systems. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during field service visits. Adhere to EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and disposal; maintain accurate service records for all repairs and installations. Support property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to ensure continuous operation of building mechanical systems. Experience Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation or repair projects. Service technician experience working on HVAC systems in commercial or residential settings. Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and HVAC design principles. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting—especially with refrigeration and boiler systems. Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) for controlling climate within buildings. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with plumbing, welding, appliance repair, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting. Ability to operate hand tools effectively; experience with electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters is preferred. Valid driver's license (including driver if applicable) with a clean driving record for field service assignments. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or ammonia refrigeration are advantageous. Mechanical or mechanic experience is highly valued for diagnosing complex system issues efficiently. Pay:
$28.74 - $34.61 per hour
