Job Description

American Rooter & Drain is looking for an experienced HVAC Install Lead to oversee residential and commercial HVAC installations. You'll lead a team of installation technicians, keep projects on track and up to code, and work hand-in-hand with our plumbing team to deliver a great experience for every customer. Who We Are American Rooter & Drain is your number one source for residential and commercial drain, heating & air, plumbing, sewer, and electrical services. We are a veteran owned company and we're growing every day. We house all of our own trucks, vans, and excavation equipment to perform all the work that our customers need. The company provides an atmosphere where the employees can continue their education, have regular training and leisure activities, allowing for an optimal working environment. Our mission is to provide and create an experience that is unmatched by any other competitor. What You'll Be Doing Your day starts in the field, not behind a desk. You'll lead residential and commercial HVAC installations from start to finish, keep your crew on pace, solve problems fast, and make sure every job is safe, clean, and up to code. You'll be the person your technicians look to when an install gets tricky. You'll coach, troubleshoot, schedule, and keep 2 to 3 subordinate supervisors and 5 to 10 additional team members aligned. You'll also work closely with the plumbing team so systems fit together cleanly and customers get a smooth experience. This is hands-on work. You'll move through attics, mechanical rooms, tight spaces, heights, and hot or cold conditions. You'll lift up to 50 lbs., handle documentation like work orders and invoices, and keep customers informed so they trust the work before you leave. The Hiring Process We have a rigorous process for hiring, but move FAST for the right person. You could be hired in as little as 10 days! We've had lots of interest, so the first few steps are automated to make sure you can get considered quickly. Don't worry—if you take the time to apply, we will respond to 100% of the applicants.
The process:
Click apply and answer a few Who, What, When questions. (5 min) You'll be texted a link for a 10 min questionnaire that will help match you to the job (or others that might suit you!). You'll get a text for a quick 1-way video question. (5 min) We'll send you a link to get scheduled for an in-person interview. You can easily be in for an interview within a couple days from right now. What You'll Earn You'll earn $20 to $25 per hour ($28-35 with Journeyman Card), based on your experience and performance. On top of that, you'll have bonus opportunities based on performance, ongoing training to grow your value, and a clear path to bigger responsibility through weekly team support, mentorship, and career advancement. Why Work With Us Your health, dental, and vision insurance are covered 100%. You also get a company vehicle and the tools you need to do the job right. You'll be part of a company that wants to add value to the community and make dreams come true for staff. If honesty, transparency, promptness, world-class service, reliability, and safety matter to you, you'll feel that here. This is not the place for someone who needs babysitting, cuts corners, ignores code, or disappears when the crew needs leadership. It is the place for someone who wants support, mentorship, and a team that takes pride in permanent solutions. Who We're Looking For You'll thrive here if you're an experienced HVAC install leader who can keep jobs moving, earn customer trust, and raise the standard for the people around you. You have a Bachelor's degree in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 5 to 10 years of equivalent hands-on experience. You have EPA 608 Certification and OSHA 30 Certification. NATE Certification is a plus. You can lead residential and commercial HVAC installations from start to finish. You can mentor technicians, manage schedules, and support a team through real jobsite problems. You communicate clearly with customers, crews, and managers, including written reports and job documentation. You have solid math skills and good judgment when conditions change fast. You can handle active field work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, kneeling, tight spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures. You should not apply if you want an easy coast job, hate accountability, or don't care about safety and quality. Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM If you're ready to lead from the front, build trust with every install, and grow with a team that backs strong work, apply now.
