HVAC Journeyman Reputable, growing, commercial HVAC Services contractor, is seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your construction and service technician experience to install, repair, and maintain complex HVAC systems across diverse commercial and residential properties. Your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Install, service, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans to execute precise system installations and repairs. Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify faults efficiently. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, ensuring proper connections and leak prevention. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to maximize lifespan and operational efficiency. Utilize hand tools and mechanical skills to repair or replace faulty components in HVAC equipment. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs for quality assurance and compliance purposes. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system issues clearly and recommending solutions that meet client needs. Operate company vehicles safely as a van driver when transporting tools or equipment to job sites. Adhere to safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration handling. Assist with building automation system adjustments to optimize environmental controls within facilities. Experience Proven construction experience with a strong background in HVAC system installation and maintenance. Service technician experience with hands-on work repairing HVAC/R equipment in commercial or residential settings. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, HVAC design principles, and electrical diagnostics. Mechanical knowledge encompassing plumbing, boiler operation, appliance repair, property maintenance, and mechanical systems repair. Experience troubleshooting complex HVAC systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters or specialized electronic testers. Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform equipment troubleshooting confidently. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications related to electrical systems or building automation are a plus.
