Job Description
The position of HVAC Technician is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position will also lead the HVAC technician team, including preparing job bids, securing local and/or state permits, train/mentor other journeyman/apprentice technicians, and project management. This position is responsible for performing all services in a safe and timely manner.
Installs new HVAC units in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
Troubleshooting complex commercial and residential HVAC/R systems and executing precise repairs.
Familiarity with preparing job bids and quoting work to customers.
Installs ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC system.
Performs routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate properly.
Installs replacement parts on existing HVAC units.
Maintains inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
Complies with company and industry safety standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.
Journeyman or Contractor HVAC license required.
EPA certification required; must have a comprehensive understanding of HVAC safety standards.
HVAC experience required; two years of related experience preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
Ability to use power and hand tools.
Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
Ability to follow instructions.
Excellent mechanical skills.
Excellent communication skills, as required to interact with customers.
Must exhibit a professional and positive image.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
3-5+ years of relevant HVAC experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required.Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.
Journeyman or Contractor HVAC license required.
