Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of building climate control systems while providing exceptional service to our clients. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and building automation system (BAS) controls to accurately diagnose issues. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment. Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and ensure proper integration with mechanical systems. Troubleshoot complex equipment problems involving refrigeration cycles, ammonia refrigeration systems, and electrical controls. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and documentation of system performance for compliance and future reference. Provide excellent customer service by clearly communicating repair procedures and system status to clients. Adhere to safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and electrical safety standards. Assist in the installation of new HVAC system components and building automation systems for improved building management. Experience Proven experience as an HVAC technician or mechanic with a strong background in construction or service technician roles. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting across various mechanical systems. Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and HVAC design principles. Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC applications and refrigeration processes including ammonia refrigeration is preferred. Mechanical knowledge encompassing boilers, air conditioning units, electrical systems, and building automation controls. Experience working with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic tools. Ability to perform electrical diagnostics accurately and efficiently using appropriate testing equipment. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical diagnostics are advantageous.
