Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician, where you will play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems across commercial and residential settings. Duties Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications. Conduct system diagnostics using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters to identify issues with electrical or mechanical components. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Troubleshoot complex HVAC system problems involving refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing connections, and mechanical components. Repair or replace faulty parts such as compressors, fans, thermostats, motors, and control panels while adhering to safety standards. Read and interpret technical schematics and HVAC design plans to facilitate accurate installations and repairs. Communicate effectively with customers to explain system issues, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations while providing excellent customer service. Maintain detailed service records, installation logs, and inspection reports for all work performed. Skills Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and installation processes. Service technician experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems is highly desirable. Ability to read schematics and HVAC design documents accurately for installation and troubleshooting purposes. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC components including refrigeration systems, boilers, air conditioning units, building automation systems, and ammonia refrigeration is essential. Skilled in electrical diagnostics involving electrical systems within HVAC equipment using tools like ohmmeters. Proficient in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and specialized equipment for system repair or installation. Strong plumbing skills related to refrigerant lines or water supply connections are a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Knowledge of EPA regulations regarding refrigerants (EPA certification required). Familiarity with electrical systems troubleshooting and equipment repair techniques. Experience working with mechanical systems repair including boilers and air conditioning units. Ability to interpret building automation system controls for efficient operation management.
