Commercial HVAC Service Technician - Union Pipefitters Local 597
Location:

Hourly Pay:
$50 - $60 / Hour +

Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pmFounded in 1979, we are a mechanical systems and HVAC contractor headquartered in Elk Grove Village. With approximately 100 employees and 30 factory-trained service technicians, we specialize in commercial and industrial HVAC service, maintenance, and emergency repair. Our team provides solutions across the Chicago metro area and Northwest Indiana, supporting clients in manufacturing, industrial, and commercial facilities with chiller, boiler, and controls troubleshooting, as well as pipefitting and sheet metal services.

The HVAC Service Technician will perform hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, supporting clients with reliable service and ensuring operational readiness. Union membership in Pipefitters Local 597 is preferred; sponsorship is available for qualified non-union technicians.

What You Will Be DoingTroubleshoot and repair HVAC systems including split systems, packaged rooftop units, air handling units, boilers, and chillers (air-cooled and centrifugal).Perform control wiring, startup sequences, and shutdown sequences for HVAC equipment.

Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 emergency service coverage.

Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality service and maintain customer satisfaction.

What You Need for This PositionExperience troubleshooting HVAC systems from split systems to large chillers.

Knowledge of 480V and 230V systems; electrical license not required.

Strong understanding of control wiring and HVAC safety standards.

Union membership preferred; sponsorship available for qualified non-union technicians (Pipefitters Local 597).Ability to work overtime during peak season and participate in emergency call rotation.

Willingness to learn, grow, and develop within a fast-paced service environment.
