Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Site Superintendent to lead commercial HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation activities at commercial and industrial facilities. This hands-on leader will direct HVAC technicians and subcontractors, plan work, track field productivity and costs, and coordinate closely with project management and customers. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and participate in commercial HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
- Oversee and service commercial HVAC equipment including: o RTUs (Rooftop Units) o AHUs (Air Handling Units) o Split systems and VAV systems o Exhaust fans, ventilation systems, boilers, and pumps
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and controls issues; guide technicians on repairs
- Direct daily assignments, supervise subcontractors, and verify quality of completed work
- Develop daily and weekly schedules; coordinate manpower, tools, materials, and equipment
- Read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals
- Track labor hours, productivity, materials, job progress, and remaining work; maintain daily reports
- Enforce company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements
- Coordinate with project managers, facility personnel, customers, and subcontractors
- Identify delays, changed conditions, and potential change orders; maintain an organized jobsite
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience
- Experience leading HVAC technicians and coordinating subcontractors
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Site Superintendent Experience:
- Proven ability to schedule field work and supervise daily HVAC operations
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to interpret drawings and monitor labor productivity and job costs
- EPA Section 608 certification (Universal preferred) Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RTUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, pumps, and industrial HVAC systems
- Familiarity with: o Building Automation Systems (BAS) / Controls o Low-voltage controls, field reporting, and short-term scheduling
