Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our engineering team. This role is vital in maintaining the comfort, safety, and operational efficiency of the hotel's mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for technical excellence, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Duties Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics and mechanical issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other hand tools to identify root causes quickly. Conduct routine HVAC system maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Perform plumbing and mechanical systems repairs as needed to support building operations. Diagnose and resolve refrigeration issues such as ammonia refrigeration systems with safety and precision. Assist in HVAC system design projects by interpreting schematics and collaborating with contractors or vendors. Ensure all work complies with EPA standards for refrigerants and environmental safety regulations. Skills Construction experience combined with service technician expertise for comprehensive system management. Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems and electrical systems diagnostics. Proficiency in reading schematics and building automation systems for effective troubleshooting. Experience with HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance across diverse mechanical systems including boilers and air conditioning units. Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and ohmmeters for precise equipment repair. Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC operations and refrigeration setups. Customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and guests when necessary. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for site visits or vendor coordination. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or HVAC design are preferred.
