Posting Information Posting Information Position Title HVAC Technician Job Duties Butler Community College is seeking a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician for it's El Dorado campus location. The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, repairs and trouble shoots climate control and refrigeration systems for all Butler campus HVAC systems. The main duties of this position involve diagnosing electrical and mechanical defects, performing routine maintenance, working on chillers/boilers, and ensuring that systems are running safely and efficiently. We regret that the College is unable to sponsor employment Visas or consider individuals on time-limited Visa status. Qualifications Required knowledge and skills A. Must show pride in craftsmanship. B. Ability to do trade related mathematics. C. Must be able to communicate with other trades. D. Must be able to safely direct helpers under him. E. Make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience and instrument readiness. F. Ability to climb, stood, bend and work in awkward positions. G. Cannot be afraid of heights. H. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. I. Can work indoors and outdoors. J. Can work overtime and weekends in emergencies. K. Must be CFC certified type U Universal. L. Must either know or be able to measure existing chilled water, hot water and air flow rates, valve CV and flow coefficients. M. Must be able to balance air flow and set variable volume boxes. N. Must be able to calculate heat gain and cooling load to properly size heating and cooling equipment. O. Must keep up to date in E.P.A. regulations and practices to remain in compliance. Refrigerant recovery and reclaiming safe storage clean air act. P. Valid driver's license is required. Required experience Be a working licensed journeyman with a minimum of 5 years experience. Masters license preferred. Required educational background A. Documented job related training. B. High School diploma or equivalent.
