Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mission-Critical HVAC Service Technician to provide service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for precision cooling and HVAC equipment in mission-critical environments. This position is ideal for an experienced HVAC technician who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, working directly with customers, and supporting equipment where reliability and uptime are critical. Commercial HVAC experience is preferred, and technicians with strong refrigeration knowledge and residential experience will also be considered. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and commission precision cooling and HVAC equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, equipment startups, warranty service, and quality assurance inspections. Troubleshoot refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, controls, and communication issues. Support the integration and operation of equipment monitoring platforms, controls, and unit-to-unit communication systems. Work with Vertiv/Liebert thermal management equipment and other critical cooling systems. Identify equipment deficiencies and provide customers with repair recommendations and potential lifecycle improvements. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication and responsive service. Complete accurate service reports, startup documentation, maintenance records, and other required documentation using company software. Maintain company-issued vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and service-ready condition. Follow all OSHA, manufacturer, customer, and company safety requirements. Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and manufacturer training. Required Qualifications EPA 608 Universal Certification - required Strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle - required 2-7 years of relevant HVAC/refrigeration experience. Hands-on HVAC field service experience. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to safely work on rooftops, ladders, and elevated work areas. Ability to perform light-to-medium physical work, including occasional heavy lifting. Preferred Qualifications 3-5+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience. Experience with precision cooling or mission-critical HVAC systems . Experience working in data centers, healthcare facilities, telecommunications, or other mission-critical environments. Experience with Vertiv/Liebert equipment. Experience with HVAC controls, monitoring systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Residential HVAC technicians with strong refrigeration knowledge are encouraged to apply; commercial experience is preferred. Work Schedule & Travel Primarily based in the Kansas City area. Guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week . Overtime opportunities available based on workload and customer requirements. Occasional overnight travel may be required. After-hours service calls are infrequent but may be necessary to support mission-critical customers. Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
