In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal components used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and other mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure that systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably across various commercial and residential projects. Responsibilities Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install sheet metal components in HVAC systems, ductwork, and mechanical setups. Install HVAC systems including ductwork, ventilation units, and related equipment following safety standards and project specifications. Perform maintenance tasks on HVAC/R systems such as cleaning, adjusting, repairing refrigeration units, boilers, and air conditioning equipment to ensure optimal performance. Conduct system testing, calibration, and commissioning to verify proper operation of installed systems. Maintain detailed documentation of installation procedures, repairs performed, and system diagnostics for quality assurance and future reference. Skills Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation and mechanical systems repair. Service technician experience working with HVAC/R equipment including refrigeration, boilers, air conditioning units, and building automation systems. Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints accurately for precise installation work. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical diagnostics skills for troubleshooting electrical systems within HVAC setups. Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other mechanical repair tools. Knowledge of HVAC design principles including duct sizing, airflow dynamics, and system balancing. Experience with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems or general building upkeep is a plus. Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a van or service vehicle safely across job sites. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during installations or repairs. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification or electrical licenses are preferred but not mandatory.
