Job Summary:
The Commercial HVAC Service Manager is responsible for overseeing commercial HVAC service operations, managing technicians, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and operational management skills to ensure efficient service delivery, high-quality workmanship, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, experience leading and developing service technicians, and the ability to manage customer relationships, coordinate daily operations, and drive service performance. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the successful execution of commercial HVAC service work.

Work Location:
Based in Burlington Kentucky, with travel throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana as needed for job site visits, technician supervision, and customer meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise HVAC Technicians:
Oversee commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring work meets quality standards and is completed within established timelines.
Lead & Develop Team:
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate HVAC technicians while identifying training needs and supporting ongoing professional development.
Manage Service Operations:
Coordinate with service dispatchers to schedule and prioritize service calls, allocate resources, and ensure efficient daily operations.
Customer Relations:
Maintain strong customer relationships, address escalated complaints, provide quotes, negotiate contracts, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Oversee Job Performance:
Monitor service progress, technician productivity, labor costs, material usage, and overall service efficiency.
Financial Management:
Review financial statements, sales reports, and productivity metrics to support company goals and profitability.
Manage Inventory & Materials:
Oversee inventory, approve materials and labor costs, and ensure technicians have the resources needed to complete service work.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide technical guidance to technicians, assist with complex HVAC system issues, and support effective problem resolution.
Ensure Safety & Compliance:
Maintain compliance with company safety policies, industry regulations, and applicable codes and standards.
Complete Documentation:
Maintain accurate service records, operational reports, and other required documentation.
Drive Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve service processes, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall department performance.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service, maintenance, and repair. Previous experience supervising or managing HVAC technicians or service operations. Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and troubleshooting procedures. Proven leadership, team development, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships and resolve escalated concerns. Experience coordinating service schedules, managing labor and material costs, and monitoring operational performance. Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize resources, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of applicable HVAC safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Relevant HVAC licenses or certifications as required for the position. Willingness and ability to travel throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana as needed.
