Responsibilities Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals Install new HVAC equipment such as ductwork, thermostats, ventilation fans, and refrigeration units following industry standards and safety protocols Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters to identify issues with electrical systems within HVAC units Troubleshoot complex equipment problems related to refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, building automation controls, and electrical wiring Maintain detailed service records, including inspection reports, repair logs, and system performance documentation Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during every interaction Requirements Proven construction experience with familiarity in mechanical systems installation and repair processes Service technician experience working on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment in commercial or residential settings, 3-5 years experience prefered. Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams related to HVAC design and electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic tools Experience with HVAC system repair and maintenance including air conditioning units and building automation systems Knowledge of electrical diagnostics for HVAC controls and electrical wiring troubleshooting Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling (or equivalent licensing as required by local regulations) Field service experience with a focus on equipment repair and maintenance in diverse environments A willingness to do what is asked and put in the hours required to get the job done.
