This energetic position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems. Responsibilities Install a variety of commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems, following schematics and HVAC design plans. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical diagnostics, plumbing connections, and mechanical components to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts to accurately assemble and install equipment. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems, including cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts to extend system lifespan. Conduct equipment troubleshooting using hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify issues quickly and efficiently. Collaborate with service technicians and property managers to deliver exceptional customer service during installation or repair projects. Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants and electrical codes while maintaining a clean work environment. Qualifications Proven construction experience with a solid understanding of mechanical systems installation and repair. Service technician experience working with HVAC/R systems or related mechanical equipment. Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigeration, and building automation systems. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC system repair, maintenance procedures, boiler operation, ammonia refrigeration systems, and electrical systems. Proficiency with hand tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment essential for troubleshooting. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately for precise installation work. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC or electrical diagnostics are a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Willingness to work in various environments including field service locations; physical ability to lift heavy equipment safely.
