Position Summary CMC is hiring an A/C Installer (DX Installer) for our Lake Charles construction crews. This is commercial and institutional construction work, not residential service: rooftop DX, VRF and VRV systems, and multiple split system installations for colleges, schools, hospitals, and governmental buildings. You will run ACR copper, braze and pressure test line sets, set indoor and outdoor units, and get the system ready for startup. We are looking first for installers trained on Daikin, Mitsubishi, and conventional split systems who have done this type of construction work. Strong DX installers from other equipment lines are encouraged to apply, and we will get you trained on ours. Key Responsibilities Read, study, and interpret job specifications, plans, blueprints, and equipment submittals to gain a full understanding of the work to be done Organize the list of material required to install the job Inspect the work site daily to identify obstructions and safety issues, and control those issues Install Daikin, Mitsubishi, and conventional split system, VRF/VRV, and rooftop DX equipment per manufacturer instructions and project specifications Set and rig indoor and outdoor units, condensers, air handlers, fan coils, and cassettes, and mount them to curbs, stands, and structure Cut, clean, deburr, braze, and fabricate ACR copper line sets and pipe assemblies as required for each DX project Fabricate and install different types of copper pipe and fittings (ACR copper, type L and K copper, PVC, and others), including refrigerant specialties and line set insulation Install DX pipe and secure it to the structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers Pressure test, evacuate, and leak check refrigerant piping systems; DX pressure tests of 400 to 600 PSI are common Pull vacuum, weigh in charge, and support equipment startup and commissioning Set and connect condensate piping and coordinate electrical and controls rough-in with the responsible trades Coordinate with other crafts on the project to eliminate obstructions and keep the work moving Direct and mentor assigned helpers on layout, brazing, and safe work practices

Qualifications:

Education High school diploma or GED required Technical school training in HVAC, refrigeration, or pipefitting preferred

Qualifications:

Experience 3 or more years as a DX or A/C installer with experience in HVAC DX piping and equipment setting, or an equivalent combination of technical school and experience Manufacturer training or documented field experience on Daikin, Mitsubishi, or comparable VRF/VRV and split system equipment strongly preferred Commercial or institutional construction experience preferred, new ground-up and renovation work Helper level: candidates with 2 years of DX or piping experience and a strong work ethic will be considered and trained toward installer level Certifications (Preferred) EPA Section 608 Universal certification required, or the ability to obtain it Manufacturer certifications on Daikin, Mitsubishi, or other VRF/VRV product lines OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction certification
