The ideal candidate is hands-on leader with minimum three years of installation experience and three years of experience leading a crew. This position requires the ability to complete high quality installations with minimal supervision while ensuring all work meets current code requirements and company standards. Candidates must be committed to safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous professional growth, including a willingness to attend union training and complete the requirements to become a journeyman if not already licensed. Responsibilities Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units and building automation systems in residential settings. Conduct system diagnostics using schematics, electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters, and refrigeration gauges to identify issues. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components of HVAC systems; repair or replace faulty parts as needed. Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to execute installations accurately. Use hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to assemble and modify HVAC components. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining certification standards. Provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions, maintenance procedures, and addressing client concerns professionally. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of HVAC Installation experience Minimum 3 years of experience leading an installation crew or team Able to complete residential HVAC system installations from start to finish with minimal supervision Strong understanding of current HVAC codes and installation best practices Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration systems. Mechanical knowledge of plumbing, boiler operation, building automation systems, and appliance repair. Ability to operate hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic devices effectively. Experience with equipment troubleshooting across various mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus; valid EPA certification required for refrigerant handling. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail in equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver license preferred for field service assignments.
