Job Description

Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC/R equipment

throughout district facilities.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
  
• Install, service, maintain, and repair rooftop units, split systems, air handlers, boilers, pumps, exhaust
  fans, compressors, condensers, and related mechanical equipment.
  
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, and HVAC/R system issues using appropriate testing
  equipment, including voltmeters, ohmmeters, amp-probes, pressure gauges, and other diagnostic tools.
  
• Check system pressures, temperatures, gauges, controls, joints, and connections to ensure proper and
  safe operation.
  
• Repair, replace, and maintain components including motors, bearings, switches, fuses, valves, damper
  operators, thermostats, electrical wiring, filters, belts, pumps, and other HVAC/R components.
  
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic and DDC control components, thermostats, sensors,
  actuators, and related control equipment.
  
• Assist with the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of building automation and
  HVAC control systems.
  
• Monitor and respond to HVAC alarms, temperature issues, equipment failures, and other system-related
  concerns.
  
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and related refrigerant work in
  accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  
• Join and repair tubing and piping; cut and thread pipe; solder and braze joints; and perform other related
  HVAC/R installation and repair work.
  
• Install and connect compressors, condenser units, motors, controls, switches, gauges, temperature
  controls, humidity controls, and related equipment.
  
• Perform minor welding, drilling, bolting, riveting, and other fabrication or installation work as required.
  
• Lubricate motors, bearings, pumps, and other equipment as required.
  
• Maintain equipment and systems by replacing worn or defective parts and performing scheduled
  preventive maintenance.
  
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency HVAC/R situations.
  
• Maintain accurate work orders, equipment records, inspection documentation, and preventive
  maintenance schedules.
  
• Review work orders, reports, invoices, and service documentation for accuracy.
  
• Assist with other facilities maintenance duties, including basic plumbing, electrical, and general building
  repairs, as needed.
  
• Work with contractors and service vendors when specialized repairs, inspections, or projects are required.
  
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining HVAC/R equipment to support energy efficiency and reliable
  building operation.
  
• Perform work in a manner that minimizes disruption to students, teachers, staff, and school operations.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  
• Follow all district safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable building, mechanical, electrical, fire,
  environmental, and refrigeration codes and regulations.
  
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with school administrators, staff, students, contractors,
  vendors, and members of the public.
  
• Provides grounds maintenance support as assigned and as operational needs require, including snow and
  ice removal, mowing, landscaping and operation of grounds maintenance equipment.
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary:

$29 to $35 Per Hour
