We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, our client has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. Our client's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. We are seeking a Senior HVAC Mechanic to Install, service and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University Facilities department.

Responsibilities General:

Install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair new and existing utility systems, electrical systems commercial/industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) & refrigeration systems.

Maintenance:

Check air handling equipment. Complete all preventive maintenance (PM) and manage PM schedules as directed by the supervisor. Coordinate the management of all Routine Work Requests (RWR) with the supervisor to ensure a timely execution of all RWRs. As necessary, work with other tradespeople to accomplish tasks.

Troubleshoot & Repair:

Trace and locate defects using the proper tools and testing devices including troubleshooting and repairing minor electrical circuits and equipment. Accomplish repairs according to accepted trade practices. As necessary, work with other tradespeople to accomplish tasks. Mentors less experienced HVAC and tradespeople. Works from oral instructions, blueprints, and written work orders. Plans test procedures, determines the proper kind and type of parts and equipment needed, and installs and repairs a variety of systems with little or no check during the progress of the assignment. Scheduled overtime as required by the Facilities Department with proper notification. This does not apply to emergency events and/or incidents, which may require 100% participation 10% of the time. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
