Must have own tools & transportation. Join our team as an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician subcontractor serving the Prince George's County area! In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of maintaining, repairing, and performance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration equipment. Your expertise will keep buildings comfortable, safe, and energy-efficient while providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and residential settings within the service area. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and system troubleshooting techniques. Conduct system inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and reliably. Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to repair or replace components such as compressors, condensers, thermostats, valves, and piping. Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and building automation system (BAS) controls to execute precise repairs or installations. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting work performed for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with every visit. Requirements Two years of experience as an HVAC or refrigeration service technician with a solid understanding of HVAC/R systems. Construction experience or background in mechanical systems repair is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and appliances. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver license preferred. EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or appliance repair are a plus. Excellent communication skills paired with a customer-focused attitude to deliver top-tier service in field settings. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments while adhering to safety protocols.
