About the Role As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency and climate control of our facilities. You will utilize your technical expertise in refrigeration and electrical systems to perform critical maintenance, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and drive continuous improvement in our mechanical infrastructure. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan and reliability of HVAC systems. Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures and implement effective, long-term repair solutions. Manage inventory levels for critical components and air handling unit filters to ensure seamless operations. Document all maintenance activities and material requisitions accurately within our computerized maintenance management system. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize facility performance and adhere to safety and building codes. Operate specialized shop machinery and power tools to fabricate or repair mechanical parts as needed. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC or facilities maintenance. Valid CFC certification and proficiency with 3-phase power systems. Proven ability to interpret complex blueprints, PIDs, and technical schematics. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs and operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and aerial lifts. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and team collaboration. Preferred Skills Current gas fitter license. Advanced metalworking skills including welding, brazing, and heat straightening. Experience with Fire/Life/Safety systems and plumbing maintenance. Familiarity with GMPs and food plant sanitation standards. Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar enterprise asset management software.
