Job Description
Job Summary The Tier 1 (Helper/Apprentice) Commercial HVAC Service Technician is an entry-level position designed for individuals beginning a career in commercial HVAC service. This role supports senior technicians with equipment handling, jobsite organization, basic mechanical tasks, and learning foundational HVAC principles. This position is hands-on and field-based, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and growth. Responsibilities Assist service technicians with commercial HVAC service calls and installations Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites Maintain clean and organized work areas on rooftops and mechanical rooms Perform basic tasks such as: Filter changes Belt replacement assistance Cleaning coils (under supervision) Condensate line clearing Basic thermostat adjustments Help with loading/unloading trucks and maintaining inventory Assist with documenting work performed (photos, notes, checklists) Follow all safety requirements including ladder safety, fall protection, and PPE usage Learn HVAC components and system fundamentals through on-the-job training Key Traits for Success Coachable attitude Dependable attendance Good communication and teamwork Safety-focused mindset Skills /
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (preferred) Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Basic mechanical aptitude Maryland DLLR Registered Apprentice License in good standingWork Environment:
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment and parts.
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, rental equipment/lifts, rooftops, and in confined spaces. Career Development

Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per weekBenefits:
