Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have atleast 2 years experience in the trade and a strong mechanical aptitude. This role involves working on various refrigeration or HVAC projects, including installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems in a corrections setting. A successful Refrigeration Mechanic will demonstrate proficiency in using hand and power tools to ensure efficient and effective refrigeration solutions. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems in accordance with local codes and regulations. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems. Perform pipe threading, assembly, and installation of various piping materials. Conduct routine inspections of refrigeration systems to identify potential issues or necessary repairs. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various refrigeration tasks. Assist with HVAC repairs as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications 2 years experience in refrigeration / HVAC with a strong understanding of principles. Familiarity with steam/pipe fitting techniques is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required on job sites. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations. Refrigerant license a plus. The ability to pass a background check in order to work in a correctional institution. A high school diploma or GED.
