Job Description
HVAC Service Technician / Journeyman Oil Propane Heat Pumps Bob's Cash Fuel - Central Maine (Madison/Skowhegan area) Family-owned since 1981 Come join a family-owned company that has been serving central Maine since 1981. Job Summary Our technicians install, troubleshoot, and repair oil, propane, and heat pump systems in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company policies. You will also perform efficiency tests, tune-ups, and contract service inspections. Experience with air conditioning and heat pumps is a plus; training is available for the right candidate. What We Offer • Paid weekly based on licenses and experience Health insurance Company-paid Health Care Reimbursement Account (HRA) Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) and Roth retirement plans with company contributions Company-provided work uniforms and boot allowance Paid time off and paid holidays Employee discounts on fuel and technician services Educational training and tuition reimbursement Essential Functions Install, troubleshoot, and repair oil and/or propane heating systems (and heat pumps/AC when applicable) Perform work safely, accurately, and to a high standard while protecting the customer's property Provide professional, courteous customer service and clearly explain equipment issues and solutions Maintains a clean, organized service vehicle and keep tools in safe working condition Use an electronic tablet to record labor, parts, and notes on work orders in the field Participate in weekly safety and operations meetings (your input is valued) Share night and weekend on-call responsibilities as part of the service team Perform propane Gas-Check inspections when required (propane technicians) Work effectively with other technicians, tank setters, drivers, office staff, and dispatch Make sound decisions on installations and repairs, seeking guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians when needed Safely use industry tools and equipment (hand tools, meters, gauges, threading equipment, soldering torch, power tools, etc.) Physical Requirements Frequent driving, standing, walking, and sitting. Occasional to frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Frequent reaching, handling, lifting, and pulling. Must be able to lift or push objects, some over 100 lbs. Company policy requires asking for assistance with large, awkward, or heavy items. Safety Safe vehicle operation, proper use of personal protective equipment, correct lifting techniques, and constant awareness of surroundings are required at all times.
