HVAC Technician - Burton, MI $30.00-40.00 Per Hour Local Projects Competitive Company Benefits Job Description Seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to add to our growing team. This role focuses on providing reliable HVAC service and installation support for commercial customers. You will respond to service calls, diagnose issues, and perform repairs or new installations on a wide range of HVAC systems. The position requires frequent travel to customer sites, direct interaction with customers, and hands-on work in commercial construction environments. Responsibilities Respond to HVAC service calls from commercial customers and assess system performance and issues on site. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including RTUs, DOAS, VRF, VFD, split systems, chillers, cooling towers, heat pumps, hydronic systems, and refrigeration systems. Perform installation and start-up of new HVAC systems in commercial and multifamily settings, including new construction projects. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and piping diagrams to complete installations and repairs accurately. Install, repair, and maintain piping, ductwork, and related mechanical components for HVAC systems. Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA Universal certification requirements, including charging, recovery, and leak checks. Troubleshoot and repair electrical components related to HVAC systems, including controls, wiring, and motors. Service and maintain boilers and associated mechanical systems as needed. Essential Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of HVAC experience within commercial applications. Experience in troubleshooting or installing HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigeration systems. Hands-on experience working with RTUs, DOAS, VRF, VFD, split systems, chillers, cooling towers, heat pumps, and hydronic systems. Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC, mechanical, and electrical issues in commercial environments. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and piping diagrams. Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems in multifamily or commercial settings. EPA Universal certification. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Work Environment This position is based in commercial construction and service environments, with daily travel to various customer sites. You will work primarily on commercial and multifamily buildings, including active construction sites and existing facilities. The role involves hands-on field work with HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, piping, electrical components, and refrigeration systems. You will operate a company vehicle to reach job locations and spend most of your time working on site rather than in an office. The environment may include exposure to varying weather conditions, heights, tight spaces, and typical construction-site conditions, requiring appropriate work attire and adherence to safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burton, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
