In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems across diverse commercial and industrial settings. Duties Lead and coordinate HVAC service teams to execute maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation projects efficiently and safely. Oversee the diagnosis of HVAC system issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes swiftly. Manage equipment troubleshooting processes for HVAC systems including refrigeration, boilers, air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, and building automation systems. Ensure all service technicians adhere to safety protocols such as EPA regulations and electrical standards while performing repairs or installations. Develop and review service schedules for HVAC system maintenance to maximize equipment lifespan and performance. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide expert recommendations on HVAC design improvements, upgrades, or repairs, and ensure exceptional customer service throughout every interaction. Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, including diagnostics reports, repair logs, schematics updates, and compliance records. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or HVAC service technician roles with a strong background in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, building automation systems, and electrical systems. Skilled in reading schematics and HVAC design plans; familiar with equipment troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment. Hands-on experience with HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning/refrigeration) systems; familiarity with ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude complemented by experience using hand tools for equipment repair or welding tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members. Valid EPA certification (or equivalent) for handling refrigerants; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or HVAC system installation are preferred.
