Free Soil, MI Pay - $23-$30 per hour Custom Sheet MetalHeating, Inc. is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined HVAC Helper who is interested in learning the heating and cooling trade. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on ability who wants to develop practical skills and build a long-term career with an established company. Previous HVAC employment is not required. We are open to candidates with experience working on vehicles, equipment, machinery, construction projects, home repairs, or other mechanical systems. HVAC schooling, industry certifications, and related experience are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities may include carrying and organizing materials, preparing work areas, assisting with equipment installation, supporting preventive maintenance, and helping technicians complete assigned service or installation tasks. This individual will also learn how to identify HVAC components, safely use tools and equipment, follow wiring diagrams and blueprints, and apply basic sheet metal and air-balancing practices. The position may require working from ladders or lifts, moving equipment and materials, and performing physical work in different indoor and outdoor conditions. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Dependable attendance and a positive work attitude Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with experienced technicians Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record Good communication and customer service skills Ability to safely lift, carry, and move tools, materials, and equipment Willingness to work in varying temperatures and jobsite conditions Basic hand tools may be required HVAC trade-school education, EPA certification, NATE certification, or previous HVAC experience is preferred Basic familiarity with construction, electrical work, plumbing, sheet metal, or mechanical equipment is helpful We are seeking someone who takes responsibility, works safely, and is motivated to grow from a helper into a skilled HVAC professional.
