Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation. Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems to identify faults efficiently. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to execute precise system installations and modifications. Conduct routine preventative maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to extend lifespan and improve energy efficiency. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe repairs and component replacements. Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment problems swiftly while adhering to safety standards. Support building automation systems (BAS) for efficient climate control management across multiple properties. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs, installations, and inspections performed. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations concerning refrigerants and environmental safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding system issues and solutions. Operate company vehicles safely as a van driver when traveling between job sites for field service assignments. Skills Proven construction experience with mechanical systems repair and installation projects. Service technician experience in HVAC or related fields with a strong understanding of HVAC/R systems. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately. Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems. Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting purposes. Experience with HVAC system maintenance including filter changes, system cleaning, calibration, and routine inspections. Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus for specialized environments. Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Knowledge of electrical systems including wiring diagrams and electrical diagnostics techniques. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service settings while maintaining safety protocols.
