In this role, you'll service, troubleshoot, repair, and install gas, electric, and wood fireplaces and hearth products throughout the southwest Twin Cities metro. You'll work on a variety of projects, learn different systems and manufacturers, and have opportunities to continue developing your technical skills. During slower fireplace seasons, you may also assist our HVAC team with service, maintenance, installation, warehouse, or shop work, helping provide steady, year-round opportunities. What You'll Do Service, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair gas, electric, and wood fireplaces Install new fireplaces and hearth appliances Complete fireplace tear-outs, replacements, and venting installations Perform routine fireplace maintenance and safety checks Read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications Work with low-voltage wiring and perform minor electrical work related to hearth systems Communicate with homeowners about their equipment, repairs, maintenance, and replacement options Protect customers' homes and maintain a clean, professional work area Complete service documentation accurately and on time Safely operate company vehicles, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment Assist other departments, including HVAC, during seasonal periods as needed Continue learning through manufacturer training, certifications, and hands-on experience Help train and support newer technicians as your experience allows What We're Looking For Above all, we're looking for the right person to join our team long-term.

Waconia Comfort Qualifications Required:

Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record Experience with fireplace/hearth service, installation, HVAC, or a related mechanical trade Ability to safely use hand and power tools Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. on occasion Comfortable working from extension and step ladders Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good communication and customer service skills Preferred, but not required: Previous experience servicing or installing gas, electric, or wood fireplaces NFI Certification or other hearth industry certification HVAC or Hearth Technical School Certificate Experience with low-voltage wiring, brazing, or soldering High school diploma or GED 3+ years of related field experience Don't check every preferred qualification?
