Summary of work required:

Assembles and positions heating units in accordance with diagrams Cuts holes in floors and walls to form air duct outlets Installs air ducts, both flex and metal. Installs fuel pipes. Wraps insulating materials around air ducts Cuts, bends, and crimps sheet metal to fabricate ducting Gather proper materials before leaving the shop Verify equipment locations with sales manager or installation foreman Install control wiring, refrigerant piping, gas piping, and condensation piping according to standard installation practices and the sales manager or installation foreman instructions Ensure equipment installed does not interfere with building structure or other pre-existing work Supervise and assign job duties to helper as appropriate Monitor helper's work and assist helper in learning proper installation techniques and use/care of tools Take responsibility for company tools at the job site and return them to the shop when finished Notify installation foreman and office manager of problems or accidents encountered on the job Take precautions during all phases of job performance to avoid accidents Fill in work order forms and submit them daily Fill in time card and materials used, on work order form (for self and helper) accurately and daily

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Language:

Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English to prepare, write, and read reports. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mechanical:

In depth knowledge of equipment installation and air distribution systems. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
