HVAC/r Service Tech Elizabethtown, NC 28337 $18.00 - $28.50 an hour - Full-time $18.00 - $28.50 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional service in maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure optimal performance of building automation and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing top-tier service to clients across various industries. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining safe, efficient, and comfortable environments for our customers. Duties Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and building automation systems to ensure optimal operation. Conduct electrical diagnostics utilizing tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot wiring issues across mechanical and electrical systems. Install new HVAC units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical components following industry standards and safety protocols. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to facilitate accurate repairs or installations. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting work performed, parts used, and system conditions. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and other environmental standards while performing equipment repairs or maintenance. Qualifications Proven experience as an HVAC/R Service Technician required. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing mechanical systems such as HVAC equipment(required), boilers, chillers, Commercial Refrigeration preferred). Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems (BAS), and electrical diagnostics. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC license or refrigeration license are a plus. Experience with plumbing repairs, welding techniques, appliance repair, and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and welding equipment confidently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving vehicles is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently in the field under varying conditions.
