In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting complex HVAC/R systems across commercial properties. We are an established and growing company with an on call rotation at about just once every 10 weeks. Responsibilities Service, and repair a wide range of commercial HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure proper operation of HVAC equipment. Perform mechanical systems repair and maintenance tasks utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment to restore system functionality efficiently. Diagnose complex issues involving refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration units, plumbing connections, electrical wiring, and mechanical components. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system conditions, repair options, and maintenance recommendations. Skills Extensive service technician experience in commercial HVAC/R environments with a focus on system troubleshooting and repair. Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and refrigeration technology. Mechanical knowledge including HVAC system installation, maintenance procedures, boiler operation, and property maintenance practices. Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters (ohmmeters), and specialized diagnostic equipment. Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately for effective troubleshooting. Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) for system control optimization. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; knowledge of ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Electrical systems expertise including wiring diagnostics and electrical component replacement. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid van driver's license for on-site travel between job sites; familiarity with property maintenance standards is advantageous.
